COVID-19 Emergency Relief

During the COVID-19 pandemic, UNITED SIKHS stepped up with emergency response teams to feed families in need from all corners of the globe: India, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Australia, United States, Canada, and more. So far, they have provided more than 3 million meals to those in need.

Saving People From Persecution

At the same time as the world was going into lockdown from the novel coronavirus, terrorist group ISIS perpetrated an attack on a Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship) in Kabul, Afghanistan. At least 25 peaceful worshippers there to offer morning prayers were killed. UNITED SIKHS has been the only organization on the ground to help as ISIS issued a 10-day ultimatum for all Afghan Sikhs to leave the country.

Empowering Individuals and Communities

UNITED SIKHS believes in empowering individuals and groups to help them attain their full potential and become active participants in society. Empowerment occurs largely through education, training, and community development projects that encourage people to participate in the decision-making processes in their local community, as well as taking their place in the international arena.

Stories of Advocacy

International Civil & Human Rights Advocacy (ICHRA) helps advance the economic, social, and spiritual empowerment of minorities and other marginalized groups and individuals in need, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, social status, age, or ability. UNITED SIKHS shares stories of how they achieve this advocacy by protecting and enforcing the civil and human rights of minorities and marginalized groups in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Relief That’s Felt Across the Globe

Humanitarian action is intended to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity during and after man-made crises and disasters caused by natural hazards, as well as to prevent and strengthen emergency preparedness for when such situations occur. The Sikh Aid team provides non-partisan global humanitarian disaster relief services, which not only provide immediate aid but also long-term rehabilitation to help communities and individuals in need. The team runs year-round projects to help eradicate poverty and work towards creating a healthier, happier world.
